我们知道field这个单词有“田，场地，领域”的含义，而day是“白天，一天”的含义，那have a field day是什么意思呢？

have a field day的意思是“to take advantage of an opportunity to do something you enjoy”，即“玩得很开心，利用机会，有机会大干一番（尤指他人不赞同的事）”。

field day这个词，在18世纪时，属于军队中常用的一个术语。表示花费一天的时间在野外进行演习。
